So during the ISPO trade show in Munich at the weekend I spotted a lot of exciting products for next winter and these are my top 5 products. I will be posting more photo’s from the show with some of my other favourite things so keep an eye out for them!
1 – Union Juliet Binding
Union have a great reputation for making long lasting bindings that perform really well. The girls collection for next winter looks rad too. The Canted Gas Pedals on the baseplate of these supply you with some extra leverage for ollie’s and will make carving easier. The canting also allows your ankle and knee joints to be aligned which will prevent pain and also help make your riding posture really good.
2 – Nikita Freyja Slub Weave in Jet Black & Freyja Jacquard in Orion Blue
The Nikita Freyja jacket is a similar fit to the Brave jacket so if you liked that one (it’s the tropical green coloured jacket that I wear) then you will love this one. The super soft sherpa lining is perfect for keeping you toasty but it’s not too thick and won’t make you melt. Also the fur around the hood is cute, you can take it off though if it’s not your thing! The thing I like about this jacket is it’s a longer fit than a lot of other jackets which makes it more comfortable and stops it from riding up your back all day. It has all the super features you need, media pocket, goggle wipe pocket, powder skirt and a lift pass pocket in the arm. With a waterproof rating of 10k you’ll be nice and dry all day long.
3 – Spy Bravo Goggles
Now the Bravo goggle quickly became my all time favourite frame, after wearing them everyday so far this season I honestly can’t see myself switching from them for a long time! The Bravo is a a really nice size they are a bigger framed goggle but they are just the right size for girls that like that style. The lens change system is an absolute dream too. 1 click and they are off, 1 click and they are back on nice and secured with the lock steady button. Also if you have the choice go for the Happy Lens, the clarity of them is insane and they will put you in a good mood – it’s science 😉
4 – Salomon Wonder
The Salomon Wonder is the perfect mountain/park board. For me the cross profile and popster core is an absolute winner, hitting rails is awesome on this board yet you can still charge around the mountain keep up with the lads. If you ride park but also like shredding piste runs and side hits I would definitely recommend this board. The Sintered base makes such a difference too, less waxing required and it can take some stick from rails and rocks.
5 – ThirtyTwo Lashed Snowboard Boots
The ThirtyTwo women’s section really stood out to me at ISPO, the designs and colours are really appealing and the tech on them is brilliant too. These are the ‘Lashed’ boot which are a medium flex lace up boot. The 3D moulded tongue on these really help get the fit right when you are lacing them up and they are super light weight too. My personal faves are the leopard print and the bright pink ones! Hopefully I will get to test some more from the range at the board test in Spring and I can let you know how they perform on the mountain.
